They are looking for a Distribution Manager to take responsibility for their warehousing and transportation activities.
The Distribution Manager will be responsible for managing all warehousing and transportation activities within a fast paced FMCG operation based in Wembley.
Specific responsibilities will be across Warehouse functions such as Good In, Pick/Pack, Despatch, Stock/Inventory & Health & Safety. Responsibility for circa 20 people (Warehouse Manager, Transport Manager, Warehouse Operatives and Drivers)
Other key responsibilities for the Distribution Manager include:
- Accountability for site performance, delivering on agreed KPIs and operational metrics, and building strong relationships with stakeholders and the network team
- Provide operational excellence through leadership and development for the site management team, create a one team culture across all site functions
- Accountability for site performance, delivering on agreed KPIs and operational metrics, and building strong relationships with stakeholders and the network team
- As a people manager, you will focus on ensuring that your colleagues receive the right level of support, coaching and development
- Ownership of the site safety strategy, through colleague engagement and delivering a first-class safety culture
- Be proactive in identifying change and continuous improvement opportunities throughout the warehouse and transport operations
- Utilising data to inform decisions and also provide regular reports to Senior Management.
- This is a broad & autonomous role where you will essentially be running an entire Logistics operation
- 5 year’s experience in management of operations, and leadership in warehousing and transport, preferably within FMCG, Food or Drinks sectors
- Evidence of an effective track record of people management and leadership
- Understanding and evidence of being able to run a commercial operation effectively
- Experience and understanding of the food service/distribution market place
- Lean trained with experience of Kaizen, 5s and problem solving methodologies
- Proven people management and development experience
- Excellent communication skills.
- Experience of working with WMS
- Solid understanding of financial management and operational KPI’s
- This individual has to be able to drive significant culture change with focus around people, processes and systems
- Be local to Wembley
£45,000 – £50,000 + benefits
